UEW Seeks Partnership with Sports Ministry to Establish Sports College

Accra, Ghana - 20 Feb, 2025 - The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has taken a significant step towards boosting the country's sports development, with a high-level delegation paying a courtesy call on the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams.

The meeting, which took place on Thursday, 13th February, 2025, aimed to foster collaboration between the Ministry and UEW, with a focus on training sports professionals and establishing a college dedicated to sports education.

Led by UEW's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual, the delegation discussed potential areas of cooperation with the Minister, emphasizing the need for improved sports facilities and infrastructure. This, they believe, would enhance the training of sports professionals and promote sports development in Ghana.

The move is seen as a positive step towards developing Ghana's sports sector, which has been identified as a key area for growth and development. With the Ministry's support, UEW hopes to establish itself as a hub for sports education and training, producing professionals who can drive the country's sports development forward.
