Tullow Oil Reaffirms Commitment to Ghana's Energy Sector

Accra, Ghana - 21 Feb, 2025 - Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama has held talks with Tullow Oil's leadership, reaffirming the company's dedication to Ghana's energy sector.

The meeting underscored Tullow's long-term partnership with Ghana, spanning nearly two decades.

As a major player in Ghana's oil and gas industry, Tullow has invested heavily in the country's energy infrastructure contributing over $19 billion. Its operations have generated significant revenue for the Ghanaian government, with the company contributing billions of dollars to the national coffers.

The company is the lead operator of Ghana's key oil fields, Jubilee and TEN.

Tullow's commitment to Ghana extends beyond its commercial interests. The company has launched initiatives aimed at supporting local communities, including education and livelihood programs committing $10 million.

During a meeting with Tullow Oil's Chairman, Phuthuma Nhleko, the President stressed the importance of a stable business environment to attract investors and promote long-term partnerships.

Nhleko reaffirmed Tullow Oil's commitment to Ghana's energy sector, highlighting the significant potential of gas in driving economic growth and revenue generation.

He also emphasized the need for a conducive business environment to strengthen investor confidence and foster collaboration.
