Titus Glover clamps down on illegal vendors at Flower Pot Interchange
Accra, Ghana - Nov 20, 2024 - Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, has clamped down on miscreants and illegal vendors settling around the newly inaugurated Flower Pot Interchange in Accra.
In a viral video, Glover is seen dismantling tables and chairs set up by hawkers who defied prior warnings to vacate the area.
He warned that the Regional Security Council will clamp down on miscreants and sanitize the region of land guards to restore peace and security.
Additionally, Glover has been working on initiatives to promote local economic development. He launched the Local Economic Development (LED) Policy (2024-2029), which aims to boost economic growth in the region.
However, not all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) attended the launch, prompting Glover to issue query letters.
The Spintex-Flower Pot Interchange, featuring a dual carriageway viaduct and multiple ramps, is designed to alleviate traffic congestion in areas like Spintex, Cantonments, East Legon, and Tema. Authorities urge public cooperation in safeguarding the facility for long-term use, with further measures planned to prevent future vending issues.
