Tasty Tom Tomato Mix Recalled Over Safety Concerns

Accra, Ghana – 2 August, 2025 – Nutrifoods Ghana Limited has issued a voluntary recall of its Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix products due to reports of bloating. The affected products include 210g and 400g canned tomato mix, as well as 380g and 1.05kg pouch packs.

The recall follows a directive from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and National Security, who received alerts about bloating in some units of the product. Nutrifoods Ghana Limited is investigating the root cause of the issue.The FDA is currently conducting inspections at the company's facility to verify compliance and support ongoing investigations. No official statement has been released on the outcome of the preliminary investigations.

Meanwhile ,Nutrifoods Ghana Limited has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and assured the public of its commitment to product quality and safety. The company says it's working closely with the FDA to resolve the issue promptly.

Consumers are advised to return the affected products to the company's Tema Office or any authorized distributor for a replacement and can also contact Nutrifoods directly via 050 538 4429 (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.).

The affected Products include ,canned Tomato Mix: 210g and 400g and Pouch Packs: 380g and 1.05kg.Consumers have also been asked to check batch numbers ranging from 20072501/P1 to 24072502/P2, expiring between January 20 and January 24, 2027.
