Shatta Wale's Lamborghini Saga: I met seller through “the street”
Shatta Wale maintains that he bought the Lamborghini for $150,000 from an individual known as "ZAK" on WhatsApp, whom he claims to have met through "the street."

Accra ,Ghana ,August 21,2015 - Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has found himself embroiled in a controversy over his ownership of a 2019 Lamborghini Urus, seized by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) due to its alleged connection to a $4 million fraud case in the United States.

According to EOCO, the luxury vehicle was linked to Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian national currently serving an 86-month prison sentence in the US for orchestrating multi-million-dollar romance and business email compromise schemes. The agency claimed that Shatta Wale couldn't provide any credible evidence of purchasing the car, raising suspicions about its origin.

Shatta Wale maintains that he bought the Lamborghini for $150,000 from an individual known as "ZAK" on WhatsApp, whom he claims to have met through "the street." However, he couldn't identify the seller or provide any documentation to support his claim, except for a customs declaration form bearing Amuah's name. This has sparked intense scrutiny, with many questioning the legitimacy of his purchase.

After being detained by EOCO on August 20, 2025, Shatta Wale was interrogated and later granted bail at GH₵10 million with two sureties to be justified. The investigation is ongoing, with EOCO working to verify Shatta Wale's claims and determine the car's true ownership.

In a statement, Shatta Wale denied any wrongdoing, insisting that he purchased the vehicle legitimately and has all necessary documents to prove his ownership. He accused EOCO's Acting Executive Director, Raymond Archer, of misleading the public and damaging his reputation. Shatta Wale claimed that Archer verbally confronted him during a meeting, suggesting he was hiding something.

As the investigation progresses, Shatta Wale's case has sparked a heated debate about accountability and transparency in Ghana. The outcome of this case will likely have significant implications for the artiste and the country's fight against organized crime.
