1. Reason for EOCO Involvement: Shatta Wale was invited to assist in investigations concerning a $4 million crime involving a Ghanaian currently serving jail time in the US. The Lamborghini was identified as proceeds of the crime.
2. Background of the Case: The investigation is part of a wider probe into possible co-conspirators in Ghana. The car was seized from Shatta Wale's possession in May 2025, and a US court authorized the US Government to take possession of the vehicle in Ghana as restitution for the crime.
3. Shatta Wale's Claims About Purchase: Shatta Wale claimed he purchased the Lamborghini for $150,000 from an unidentified party. However, he was unable to provide proof of purchase or identify the seller.
4. Events at EOCO Office: Shatta Wale arrived at EOCO on August 20, 2025, but refused to cooperate until his lawyer arrived. He was interrogated until 9pm and was granted bail at 9pm.
