Shatta Wale Apologizes to Bulldog Over Fennec Okyere Murder Allegations

Accra, Ghana - 30 April, 2025 - Ghanaian dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., alias 'Shatta Wale' has finally rendered a formal apology to his former manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bulldog.
The apology comes after a prolonged defamation lawsuit filed by Bulldog over Shatta Wale's allegations linking him to the murder of Fennec Okyere, manager of musician Kwaw Kese.
Background of the Case
The controversy began on November 2, 2022, when Shatta Wale made a Facebook post implicating Bulldog in Fennec Okyere's murder. This led to Bulldog filing a defamation suit against Shatta Wale, seeking damages and a retraction of the post.
The case had been ongoing, with both parties eventually agreeing to an out-of-court settlement.
Terms of the Settlement
As part of the settlement agreement, Shatta Wale was expected to issue a public apology to Bulldog. In his apology letter dated April 30, 2025, Shatta Wale stated, "I wish to retract each of the statements in the said series of publications, as I did not mean to say that MR. HANSON had a hand in the murder of FENNEC OKYERE. I also wish to apologise to MR. HANSON and all the persons whom my publications of November 2, 2022, have caused pain, agony, anguish, shame, ridicule, or hatred."
Bulldog's Reaction
Although Bulldog had previously expressed frustration that Shatta Wale had not fulfilled the settlement terms, including paying legal fees and issuing a public apology, the apology marks a significant step towards resolving the matter.
