Seidu Agongo Provides Food Support to 70 Vulnerable Residents in Bongo District

Bongo, Upper East Region, Ghana - 01 May, 2025 - In a heartwarming display of generosity, renowned businessman Alhaji Seidu Agongo has partnered with a local initiative to provide vital food support to vulnerable residents in the Bongo District of Ghana's Upper East Region.
Seventy elderly and disadvantaged individuals in the Adaboya-Kunkoe community received 35 bags of maize, helping to alleviate food insecurity exacerbated by erratic rainfall and poor harvests.
The initiative, coordinated by Mrs. Janet Abugre, a native of Adaboya-Kunkoe, has significantly expanded its reach this year thanks to Agongo's support, benefiting dozens of women, widows, single mothers, and individuals unable to farm due to illness or disability.
"What began as an effort to support about 20 individuals has now grown to reach around 70 beneficiaries, thanks to Alhaji Agongo's generous contribution," Mrs Abugre said.
"We provide food rather than money to guarantee households have access to essential nourishment,'' she added.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the timely donation, which was distributed discreetly to ensure dignity.
Agongo's philanthropic efforts have made a tangible impact, but needs in the community remain substantial. The initiative hopes for continued support to further broaden its reach and assist more vulnerable residents in the future.
