Rashid Pelpuo Leads Ghana's Quest for Better Labour Practices at ILO Conference

Accra, Ghana - 01 June, 2025 - Ghana is poised to bolster its domestic labour policies through enhanced international cooperation as the country takes a leading role at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conference in Geneva.
Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, will lead the Ghanaian delegation to the global event, where he will emphasize the importance of aligning Ghana's labour reforms with international best practices.
Dr. Pelpuo's role as Co-Chair of the ILO Conference positions him to play a pivotal part in shaping global employment discussions. The conference will convene representatives from governments, employers, and worker unions to set labour standards and advance decent work initiatives.
According to Dr. Pelpuo, Ghana's participation in the conference is strategic, aiming to reshape the country's job creation agenda, improve workplace safety, and expand social protection for workers.
The Ghanaian delegation will present updates on national labour initiatives and pursue bilateral cooperation with other countries in areas such as job creation and industrial relations.

The 2025 International Labour Conference (ILC), also known as the 113th Session, will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from June 2nd to 13th, 2025.
The conference will be held at the Palais des Nations and the ILO headquarters.
