Prof Kobby Mensah Appointed CEO of Ghana Tourism Development Company
Accra, Ghana 30 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's President, John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Professor Kobby Mensah as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Development Company Limited.
The appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the company, which plays a crucial role in promoting tourism in Ghana.
Prof. Mensah, an Associate Professor at the University of Ghana Business School, is a renowned expert in tourism marketing. His expertise is expected to drive growth and innovation in Ghana's tourism sector, which has been identified as a key area for economic development.
The Ghana Tourism Development Company Limited is the commercial wing of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, established in 1972 to lead tourism investments and infrastructure developments in the sector.
With Prof. Mensah at the helm, the company is poised to promote tourism investment and infrastructure in Ghana, building on its existing portfolio of tourist sites, including the Assin Manso Slave River Site and the Big Tree Tourist Site.
