Prof. Joshua Alabi Named GCB Board Chairman
Accra, Ghana - 28 Jan, 2025 - GCB Bank PLC has announced significant changes to its leadership structure, appointing Professor Joshua Alabi as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors. Professor Alabi, a renowned academic and corporate governance expert, brings over three decades of experience to the role.
His appointment is subject to shareholder approval and regulatory endorsements.
Professor Alabi's impressive resume includes stints as Chairman of HFC Bank, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra, and Member of Parliament for the Krowor Constituency. He has also held ministerial positions for the Greater Accra and Northern Regions.
In another key appointment, Farihan Alhassan has been named the bank's new Managing Director, succeeding Kofi Adomako. Mr. Alhassan, 44, boasts two decades of banking experience, having previously worked at Stanbic Bank Ghana.
His appointment follows a "mutual and amicable agreement" between Mr. Adomako and the bank.
