President Mahama Swears in New National Peace Council Governing Board

Accra, Ghana - 07 May, 2025 - President John Mahama has reconstituted the Governing Board of the National Peace Council (NPC), tasking the new members with promoting peace, dialogue, and national cohesion in Ghana.

The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the Jubilee House, brought together a diverse group of prominent religious, traditional, and civil society leaders.

The newly reconstituted board is chaired by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Fianu, SVD, and comprises 13 members, including respected figures from various faiths and backgrounds. The members include religious leaders such as Rt. Rev. Dr. Hilliard K. Dela Dogbe, Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye, and Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu, as well as traditional leaders like Numo Blafo Akotia Omaℇtu III and Nana Effah-Apenteng.

The National Peace Council plays a crucial role in promoting peace and stability in Ghana, and the new board is expected to build on the council's existing work.
