Police Probes Suspicious Fire Outbreak at Kwashieman Cluster of Schools Housing Electoral Materials
A mysterious fire outbreak has ravaged the Kwashieman Cluster of Schools in Accra, Ghana, sparking widespread concern amidst ongoing post-election tensions. The facility, which houses the Ablekuma North Constituency ballot boxes, was engulfed in flames in the early hours of Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with the Ghana National Fire Service, has launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
In a statement , the Police assured the public that those responsible for the fire will face the full force of the law.
The incident has raised concerns about the security of the electoral process, particularly in light of the recent post-election disturbances. According to the Police, 132 suspects have been arrested nationwide in connection with these disturbances, with 45 remanded in custody, 71 on police enquiry bail, and 16 on court bail.
