Parliament to reconvene on December 16 - Speaker Bagbin
Ghana's Parliament is set to reconvene on Monday, December 16, 2024, following the country's general elections.
The announcement was made by Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, in a notice issued on December 2.
The reconvened Parliament will comprise newly elected members from both the Majority and Minority sides. The decision to reconvene comes after Speaker Bagbin rejected a request to recall Parliament on November 28 and 29 to address pressing matters.
Instead, Speaker Bagbin maintained that parliamentary activities would remain suspended until after the December 7 general elections. This move follows a suspension of proceedings due to the absence of a prepared agenda from the Business Committee.
