Parliament Approves Dumelo, Srem-Sai, Others as Deputy Ministers

Accra, Ghana - 08 March, 2025 - Ghana's Parliament has approved the appointment of Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba as Minister of State for Public Sector Reforms, along with 13 new Deputy Ministers, in a move aimed at strengthening the government's leadership team.
In addition to Akanvariba's appointment, 13 Deputy Ministerial nominees have also been approved. These include:
- Justice and Attorney General: Justice Srem-Sai
- Defence: Ernest Brogya Genfi
- Finance: Thomas Nyarko Ampem
- Roads and Highways: Alhassan Suhuyini
- Food and Agriculture: John Dumelo
- Education: Dr Clement Apaak
- Trade, Agribusiness and Industry: Sampson Ahi
- Interior: Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi
- Energy and Green Transition: Richard Gyan-Mensah
The approval of these nominees is expected to bolster the government's efforts in various sectors. The Appointments Committee's rigorous vetting process, which began on February 26, 2025, paved the way for the House's endorsement.
