Cabinet Greenlights 2025 Budget, Paving Way for Parliamentary Review on March 11

Accra, Ghana - 08 March, 2025 - Ghana's cabinet has approved the highly anticipated 2025 budget, setting the stage for its presentation to Parliament on March 11, 2025.
The budget, set to be delivered by Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is designed to tackle the country's economic challenges and put Ghana on the path to sustainable growth, according to the Minister of State in charge of Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
Addressing the press on March 7, 2025, Kwakye Ofosu noted that, the financial plan prioritizes key areas of the John Dramani Mahama administration and aims to stabilize the economy.
In addition to the budget approval, the cabinet has also greenlit the construction of a second gas processing plant to address Ghana's energy concerns. Energy Minister John Jinapor emphasized the urgency of interventions to strengthen energy security and ensure a stable power supply.
The cabinet has also approved a series of measures to address Ghana's energy challenges in the short, medium, and long term. These moves are aimed at bolstering the country's economic recovery efforts.
