OSP Removes Ken Ofori-Atta from Wanted List

Accra, Ghana - 18 Feb, 2025 - Former Ghanaian Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has been removed from the Office of the Special Prosecutor's (OSP) wanted persons list, following confirmation of his planned return to Ghana in May 2025.

Ofori-Atta's lawyers had previously informed the OSP that he was receiving medical treatment in the United States, prompting the authority to declare him wanted in connection with multiple corruption cases.

However, with his scheduled return to Ghana, the OSP has reversed its decision.

The former finance minister is implicated in several high-profile corruption cases, including the SML scandal, National Cathedral scandal, and the Ambulance Rehabilitation scandal.

His cooperation with the ongoing investigation is expected upon his arrival in Ghana.

The OSP's Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, had warned Ofori-Atta that failure to return to Ghana would result in the authority taking "all necessary legal steps" to secure his return.

With Ofori-Atta's planned return, the investigation into the corruption allegations against him is expected to proceed.
