Nyarko Ampem Leads Delegation at ECOWAS Bank's Annual Gathering

Banjul, The Gambia - 14 April, 2025 - Ghana's Deputy Minister of Finance, Hon. Thomas Nyarko Ampem, is leading the country's delegation at the Annual Board of Governors Meeting of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) in Banjul, The Gambia.
The meeting brings together Ministers of Finance and Planning from the 15 ECOWAS member states to discuss the bank's strategic growth and development initiatives.
EBID, established in 1999, aims to foster economic development in West Africa through financing projects in various sectors, including infrastructure, health, education, and private sector growth.
The bank has been instrumental in promoting regional integration and development, with notable projects including a recent €100 million loan agreement with the European Investment Bank to support West Africa's climate action and sustainability initiatives.
The meeting provides a platform for the bank's governors to review progress, set priorities, and chart the course for EBID's continued contribution to the economic integration and development of the West African sub-region. Ghana's participation underscores its commitment to regional cooperation and development, aligning with the bank's vision of creating a strong, industrialized, and prosperous West Africa.
As the meeting unfolds, discussions are expected to focus on leveraging EBID's resources to address pressing development challenges in the sub-region, including infrastructure deficits, climate change, and private sector growth
