Ntim Fordjour is not a Loner and Will Never Walk Alone - Afenyo-Markin

Accra, Ghana - 09 April, 2025 - The Minority Caucus in Ghana's Parliament has strongly condemned the National Investigations Bureau's (NIB) attempt to arrest Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, Member of Parliament for Assin South, citing a lack of due process and potential political interference.
The incident occurred at Fordjour's residence in Accra on April 9, 2025, following his allegations of suspicious flights carrying drugs and cash at the Kotoka International Airport.
Rev. Fordjour's allegations triggered a heated debate, with government officials labeling them unfounded. In contrast, the Minority Caucus believes the NIB's actions were a deliberate attempt to muzzle dissenting voices in Parliament, driven by political motives.
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin stood firmly behind Fordjour, stressing the need for transparency and accountability in probing the claims.
“Reverend is not a loner, he has not walked alone, and he will never walk alone,” the Minority Leader stated.
“As a caucus, we have our various committee heads, and Reverend [Name] is the leader of the Defence and Interior Committee of our caucus. He speaks for the caucus and expresses the views of the caucus."
“Nobody should make any attempt to single him out or try to come here and intimidate him,” he warned.
“He walks through this unfortunate valley of the shadow of death, but he will fear no evil. Because he walks with his God and the strength of the mighty 88 behind him.
“Enough is enough,” Afenyo declared.
When NIB officials tried to apprehend Rev. Fordjour at home, the Minority Caucus stepped in, pointing out the absence of a warrant or formal charges.
The Minority denounced the NIB's move as a threat to parliamentary oversight and an effort to silence those raising concerns about national security and accountability.
