NPP Cracks Down on Dissent, Suspends Six Constituency Executives in Pusiga

Pusiga, Upper East Regiom, Ghana - 02 March, 2025 - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ghana has taken decisive action against six constituency executives in the Pusiga Constituency, suspending them over alleged anti-party behavior.

The move, announced in a letter dated February 20, 2025, directs the affected executives to step aside and face the regional disciplinary committee.

The suspended executives include Awinimi Emmanuel, Constituency Communication Officer, Belingumse Sawuda, 2nd Vice Chairman, Haruna Salam, Assistant Secretary, Kazussah Jacob, Treasurer, Salifu Ibn Adam, Elections and Research Officer, and Iddrisu Kadiri, Deputy Nasara Coordinator.

According to reports, the suspended executives have not been informed of the specific offenses they are accused of committing. Awinimi Emmanuel, the suspended Communication Officer, confirmed the development to Citi News, stating that he was simply told to step aside and await an invitation from the Regional Disciplinary Committee.

“When I opened the letter, they said they had suspended me as Communication Officer of the party in the constituency and the Regional Disciplinary Committee will invite me. I said okay. So I took my letter. That is all I can say,” he said.
