NIA Introduces Fees for Premium Services, First-Time Issuance Still Free

Accra, Ghana - 24 Feb, 2025 - The National Identification Authority (NIA) has issued a reminder that obtaining a Ghana Card for the first time is still free at any of its 276 district offices nationwide.

However, those opting for premium services will incur charges.

Fees for Premium Services

- First-time issuance: GH₵310.00
- Card replacement: GH₵125.00
- Record updates with card replacement: GH₵420.00
- Nationality updates: GH₵70.00
- Record updates only (at Premium Centres): GH₵310.00 

These fees were approved by the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana in 2023, aiming to enhance transparency and streamline the Ghana Card acquisition process.

The Ghana Card serves as a vital identification document, granting citizens access to government services and essential activities.
