Nene Drolor Bosso Beats Afotey Agbo to Win Greater Accra Council of State Seat

Accra, Ghana - 11 Feb,2025 - In a closely contested election, Nene Drolor Bosso Adamtey I has been elected as the Greater Accra Region's representative on the Council of State, securing 40 votes, edging out former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo.

The election, which initially featured 13 candidates, saw three aspirants, namely; Obed Nyarko, Albert Borketey Naawu, and Musah Ziyad withdraw before voting commenced, leaving 10 contenders in the running.

The Council of State plays a crucial role in advising the President on key matters, and Adamtey I's election is seen as a significant development for the region. As the representative of Greater Accra, he will be expected to champion the interests of the region and work towards its development.
