NDC Disowns Letter Calling for Nominees for National Appointments
Ghana's National Democratic Congress (NDC) has moved to clarify a misunderstanding over a letter circulating among party members, calling for the submission of nominees for national appointments.
According to Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, the letter was not sanctioned by the party's top leadership, nor was it approved by the regional executive committee.
In a statement issued on Dec 25, Moore described the letter as a "sole decision" of the Regional Secretary, taken without consulting the party's established structures.
Moore urged party members to disregard the letter, emphasizing that it does not represent the official position of the NDC.
''Let me state explicitly that I am not aware of such notification from the apex level of the party. Neither has the regional executives committee been consulted nor have approved such directive.
''This is indeed a sole decision of the Regional Secretary without any recourse to laid down party structures.
Kindly disregard the letter completely with much seriousness it deserves,'' portions of the statement read.
