Move to the collation centres and protect your votes, don't jubilate yet - NDC tells Supporters

Ghana's electoral landscape is on high alert as citizens eagerly await the official results of the 2024 general elections. In a bid to maintain order and transparency, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged its supporters to keep calm and composed, refraining from premature celebrations until the Electoral Commission (EC) announces the official results.

As the nation holds its breath, NDC Communications Director Sammy Gyamfi emphasized the importance of vigilance and responsibility among party supporters while speaking to journalists at a press conference. He called on them to make their way to constituency collation centers to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.

Gyamfi's message is clear: it's time for supporters to play their role in protecting their votes. With preliminary results trickling in, the NDC is cautioning against jubilation until the EC declares the official results at the constituency centers.

“If you are listening to this address, on behalf of our leader and father, John Dramani Mahama, and the incoming president of Ghana, make your way to your constituency collation centre. If you were at the polling station at the time of declaration I am sure by now following the ballot boxes and other electoral materials to the EC collation centre.

“If you were not at the polling station, wherever you are in your constituency, this is the time to play your role. You have voted, your votes have been counted and declared at the polling station, and now you have the responsibility to protect those votes.

“So, this new stage of constituency collation is of utmost importance to all of us and our leader would want all of us to stop the jubilation until results are duly collated, and declared at the constituency centres.

“The results form at the collation centres duly filled and signed by the various party collation agents and our agent is given his or her copy. You don’t jubilate,” he stated.
