Moment Has Come for Rawlings Family to Rejoin NDC - Fifi Kwetey
Accra, Ghana - 23 June, 2025 - General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey is pushing for a renewed partnership with the Rawlings family, calling for their full reintegration into the party's foundation.
Speaking on the occasion of Rawlings' 78th birthday, marked as "Rawlings Day" by the party, the General Secretary emphasized the importance of involving the Rawlings family in the party's activities.
Mr. Kwetey specifically urged Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Rawlings' wife, and their children, including Amina and Kimathi, to rejoin the party's foundation.
He stressed that the NDC's connection to its roots would be strengthened by the family's active participation.
“The moment has come for the family of Rawlings to again be in the very foundation of everything with them,” he said.
"I believe the moment has come for the family of Rawlings to again be in the very foundation of everything with them. And the family of Rawlings means not just Rawlings but also Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings." he said.
The General Secretary described Rawlings as a visionary leader who played a significant role in shaping Ghana's history.
He called on party supporters to honor Rawlings' legacy by building on the foundation he laid and advancing his ideals.
“It is a celebration of a special person who actually was born with a special mission, and we happen to be beneficiaries of that mission.
"The moment has come for us to understand that this is the moment to honour the memory of this great soul and ensure that whatever he started, this is the time for us to really build a foundation so that the real reset agenda that he had in mind can start to happen," Mr Kwetey said.
