Minority Petitions GMDC Over Dr. Ann Sansa Daly's Credentials, Demands Answers From GHOne TV

Accra, Ghana - 04 June, 2025 - The Ghanaian media landscape is facing scrutiny after the Minority Caucus in Parliament issued a one-week ultimatum to GHOne TV, seeking clarification on their decision to feature Dr. Ann Sansa Daly as the host of a medical television program.
Dr. Daly's appointment as a Board Member of the National Health Insurance Authority was recently revoked by President John Dramani Mahama amid concerns about her medical credentials.
A closer look at the vetting process conducted by GHOne TV prior to Dr. Daly's appointment as a program host raises questions about the station's due diligence.
The Minority Caucus, led by Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, Ranking Member of the Health Committee, is demanding answers on the investigations and background checks conducted by GHOne TV before engaging Dr. Daly.
The caucus is also seeking clarification in a letter to the Ghana Medical and Dental Council (GMDC) on the legitimacy of the medical title used by Ann Sansa Daly, as well as the basis on which GHOne TV approved and aired a program offering medical advice and information to the public, given the concerns surrounding Dr. Daly's qualifications.
Furthermore, the Minority Caucus wants to know what corrective measures GHOne TV intends to take to prevent potential misinformation or professional misconduct.
“The Ghanaian public rely heavily on the credibility of media houses in shaping their public knowledge on health and wellness issues. Therefore, it is important that individuals given such platforms are thoroughly vetted and meet legal and professional standards,” portions of the letter reads.
