Mensah Korsah Retains Techiman South Seat After Court-Mandated Recollation
Accra, Ghana - 05 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's Electoral Commission has confirmed Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah as the winner of the Techiman South parliamentary seat, following a court-ordered re-collation of votes.
Korsah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, secured 46,663 votes, defeating his National Democratic Congress (NDC) rival, Christopher Bayere Basongti, who garnered 43,429 votes.
The re-collation exercise was conducted at the Electoral Commission's regional office in Accra, under strict security and observation from both parties. This declaration comes after a High Court directive ordered the Electoral Commission to finalize results in several constituencies, including Techiman South, by January 6, 2025.
