McDan Aviation Resumes Private Jet Services After GACL Debt Dispute Resolution
Accra, Ghana - 22 Jan, 2025 - McDan Aviation's Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services have resumed operation after a temporary closure due to a debt of over $3 million owed to the Ghana Airports Company (GACL). The private jet services outfit announced its reopening on January 21, following a successful resolution with the GACL.
The company's private jet terminal at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) was shut down by the GACL on December 30, 2024, over unpaid land leases, rentals, and terminal charges. However, after negotiations, McDan Aviation has settled its outstanding financial matters, enabling it to resume operations.
In aa statement, the Management of McDan Aviation expressed gratitude to the GACL for its prompt resolution of the issue. "We appreciate the support and collaboration of the Ghana Airports Company Limited during this process," said Kwaku Amprofi, Chief Executive Officer of McDan Group.
This is not the first time McDan Aviation has faced operational challenges. In February 2022, the GACL suspended the company's private jet operations at Terminal 1 of KIA, citing operational breaches. However, with its debt resolved, McDan Aviation is now poised to resume its private jet services, providing relief to its clients.
