Mahama Names Ato Forson Finance Minister- Designate, Ayine for Attorney General
Accra, Ghana - 09 Jan, 2025 - President John Dramani Mahama has announced his first set of ministerial appointments, assigning crucial roles to Dr. Ato Cassiel Forson, John Jinapor, and Dominic Ayini.
According to a statement issued on Thursday Jan 9 and signed by the Presidential Spokesperson, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, this move is in line with Article 78 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, which empowers the President to nominate ministers for parliamentary approval.
The newly appointed ministers will oversee critical portfolios, including finance, energy, and justice. Here are the key appointments:
- Minister for Finance Designate: Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson
- Minister for Energy Designate: Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor
- Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Designate: Hon. Dominic Akuritinga Ayini
These appointments are subject to parliamentary approval, following the submission of the ministerial nominations to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.
