Mahama Appoints Justina Nelson as Acting CEO of Minerals Income Investment Fund
Accra,Ghana - 14 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Justina Nelson as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF), effective immediately.
This move comes less than 24 hours after the president revoked the appointment of Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng as CEO of MIIF.
Ms. Nelson, currently a Group Head at Zenith Bank, brings extensive experience in the mining and finance sectors, having held senior positions in both private and public institutions. Her appointment is seen as a significant development in the president's efforts to strengthen the leadership of key state institutions.
The presidency announced the appointment in a statement, citing Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 21(2) of the MIIF Act, 2018. Ms. Nelson holds multiple academic qualifications, including a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law and a Master in Business Administration.
