Accra, Ghana - Nov 18, 2024 - Ghana's former President John Agyekum Kufuor has made a passionate appeal for a violence-free and peaceful 2024 general election, emphasizing the need for citizens to respect the poll's outcome.
In a meeting with journalists on November 17, Kufuor stressed the importance of maintaining calm during the voting process to safeguard Ghana's democracy.
“It is essential for everyone to line up calmly to exercise their voting rights on election day. Electoral violence is unacceptable, and I hope for a peaceful election process.
“We must acknowledge that genuine power resides with the populace, and it is crucial to accept the results, regardless of personal preferences. I urge all participants to prioritize peace during this election,'' he stated.
