Koo Ofori Arrested for Alleged $50,000 Scam

Accra, Ghana - 09 May, 2025 - Popular Ghanaian comic actor Koo Ofori finds himself at the center of a financial scandal after being arrested for allegedly swindling a US-based Ghanaian out of $50,000.

The Accra Central Police Command apprehended Koo Ofori, whose real name is Samuel Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari, following a complaint filed by the victim.

According to police sources, Koo Ofori had promised a legitimate investment opportunity to the California-based victim but failed to honor the agreement, but went into hiding, leading to a prolonged dispute. After ignoring a summons to appear before the Dansoman District Court on April 17, 2025, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Koo Ofori is currently in custody and will remain so until his case is heard on May 12, 2025, after a postponement from May 9.
