Kofi Agyepong Resigns as YEA CEO, Citing Personal Commitments

Accra, Ghana - 23 Jan, 2025 - Kofi Baah Agyepong, the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana's Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has tendered his resignation, effective January 24, 2025. 

Agyepong reflected on his two-year tenure in a letter to President John Mahama, describing it as "an honour and a privilege" to serve as CEO. He expressed his gratitude to the President and wished him continued wisdom and strength in his service to the nation. He however, cited personal commitments and aspirations as the reason for his decision.

Agyepong has assured a smooth transition, stating that he remains available to address any urgent matters. His legacy at the YEA includes notable initiatives, such as the Community Protection Assistants program, which employed 1,500 individuals, and the Apparel and Textiles Sector program, which supported 90 large companies and 500 medium and small companies

“I am formally tendering my resignation as the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), effective 24th January 2025,” the letter stated. “However, I have decided to step down to focus on personal commitments and aspirations.”

“I wish you continued wisdom and strength in your service to the nation,” while expressing confidence in the agency’s future successes,'' he stated in his resignation letter.
