Ken Ofori-Atta Expected to Appear Before OSP Today

Accra, Ghana - 02 June, 2025 - The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has summoned former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to appear in person at its headquarters on Monday, June 2, 2025, warning that failure to comply will result in severe consequences.
The OSP warned that failure by Mr. Ofori-Atta to comply with the summons will result in him being listed as wanted again and formally declared a fugitive from justice.
Furthermore, the office will initiate proceedings to issue an INTERPOL Red Notice, potentially subjecting the former minister to international arrest and extradition. This directive is part of ongoing investigations into alleged corruption and abuse of office, including several high-profile cases involving contractual arrangements, procurement procedures, and financial transactions.
Mr. Ofori-Atta was previously removed from the OSP's wanted list after cooperating with authorities, but this cooperation appears to have been deemed insufficient, and the June 2 deadline now puts his compliance to the test.
The OSP's investigations involve several key issues, including the Petroleum and Minerals Revenue Assurance, Electricity Company Contract Termination, National Cathedral Project, Ambulance Procurement, and GRA Tax P-Fund Management. The office had previously declared Mr. Ofori-Atta a fugitive from justice in February 2025 after he failed to appear in person, citing medical reasons for his absence abroad.
However, after he provided a definite return date in May 2025, the OSP removed his name from the wanted list.
