Interior Ministry Declares April 18 and 21 Public Holidays

Accra, Ghana - 18 April, 2025 - The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has declared Good Friday and Easter Monday as statutory public holidays in Ghana.
The holidays, which fall on April 18 and 21, 2025, respectively, will be observed nationwide.
In a statement issued on April 14, 2025, the Minister informed the general public of the holidays, emphasizing the importance of observing these days as statutory public holidays.
As a result, businesses, schools, and government institutions are expected to close on these days, allowing citizens to observe the Easter celebrations. This declaration is in line with Ghana's Public Holidays Act, which recognizes certain days as statutory holidays.
