Ignore false Prophecies, focus on Peaceful Elections - Asantehene to Ghanaians

As Ghana prepares for its upcoming elections, influential voices are urging citizens to prioritize peace and unity. The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has cautioned against false prophecies that could destabilize the nation during the upcoming elections.

Speaking on behalf of the Asantehene, the Chief of Sewua, Nana Kwaku Amankwa Sarkodie, emphasized the need for vigilance in protecting Ghana's peace during the election season.

''Ghanaians must focus on what unites us and ignore divisive and false prophecies,” he stated.

“We will be going to the polls very soon. Otumfuo said I should tell you some individuals are engaging in false prophecies. Some claim to be making prophecies to favour the New Patriotic Party (NPP), while others also make prophecies to favour the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“They have all forgotten that they have people among their followers who belong to different political parties and also hold different views,” he added.

This message is echoed by other leaders, including former President John Agyekum Kufuor, who has appealed to Ghanaians to respect democratic values and maintain peace during the elections.

The Catholic Archbishop of Accra, John Bonaventure Kwofie, has also called for a Novena to Divine Mercy, seeking God's intervention for peaceful and fair elections.
