Government Stays the Course on 24-Hour Economy Policy - Ato Forson

Parliament House, Accra, Ghana - 11 March, 2025 - Ghana's government has reiterated its dedication to implementing the 24-Hour Economy Policy, a key strategy aimed at transforming the country's economy through round-the-clock economic activities.
Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson reaffirmed this commitment during the 2025 budget presentation in Parliament on Tuesday, emphasizing the policy's crucial role in addressing Ghana's economic challenges and promoting sustainable growth.
The 24-Hour Economy Policy is designed to boost productivity and economic growth by incentivizing businesses to operate around the clock. Companies that adopt this policy will benefit from tax incentives and reduced electricity tariffs during off-peak hours.
This initiative is expected to enhance Ghana's economic resilience and competitiveness in the global market.
Dr. Forson has confirmed that the government will soon submit the 24-Hour Economy Policy to Parliament, setting the stage for its rollout.
“We remain committed to the pursuit of the 24-Hour Economy Policy,” he stated.
