ATC Commends NCA for Fairness and Transparency in Telecoms Regulation

Accra, Ghana - 04 April, 2025 - American Tower Corporation (ATC) has commended Ghana's National Communications Authority (NCA) for its fairness and objectivity in regulatory matters.

A high-level delegation from ATC, led by Marek Busfy, CEO of ATC Africa, commended the NCA during a visit to the regulator's Director-General, Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko.

The meeting marked a significant improvement in relations between ATC and the NCA, fostering a more transparent and collaborative environment. However, ATC also highlighted key challenges, particularly regarding rental costs for tower sites, which are impacting their operations and long-term planning.

To address these challenges, ATC announced plans to invest in compact, multi-tenant towers designed to enhance cost efficiency, aesthetics, and sustainable network expansion across Ghana.

Rev. Ing. Fianko acknowledged the company's concerns and reaffirmed the NCA's commitment to strengthening collaboration with all stakeholders in the telecoms industry.

This development comes as ATC continues to expand its presence in Africa.

The company has existing operations in several countries, including Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.
