Government Halts All Post-Retirement Contracts for Public Servants
Accra, Ghana - 08 April, 2025 - Ghana's government has announced the immediate suspension of all post-retirement contract appointments for public service staff.
This decision, revealed in a directive issued on April 2, 2025, aims to reassess the practice of granting such appointments.
The suspension affects all current and future requests for contract extensions involving retired personnel.
The Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, has instructed all relevant authorities to comply strictly with the new directive.
