Ghana's Ruling Party confident in election preparedness, says Parliamentary results will be known by 8pm on December 7
Ghana's ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is upbeat about its readiness for the upcoming elections, citing significant improvements to its collation system. The party expects to announce a complete set of parliamentary results by 8 pm on December 7, marking a notable improvement from previous elections.
In an interview with Citi News, the party’s Deputy General Secretary, Haruna Mohammed revealed that the NPP had conducted a successful dry run of its systems, ensuring a seamless collation process.
“We have always improved our collation system and we have always added features and removed some as well and we have done a test ran which has given us a shorter time compared to the last elections and I can assure you that we have gotten enough improvement in our system of collations,'' he stated.
“We did a dry run on Saturday and I believe that by the time the polls close at 5 pm, by 8 pm, we should be able to know who has the majority.”
“We need to also try as much as possible to make sure that we put all our final touches to this particular campaign.
“We also need to make sure that our agents and other human resources that we need are set. For us as a party, we have put all these things together. We have done a test run of several other systems that we intend to use in this particular election,'' he added.
