Ghana's Mpox Cases Surge to 713 with 26 New Infections

The Ghana Health Service has reported 26 new confirmed cases of Mpox, bringing the total number of infections to 713 as of October 10, 2025. Fortunately, no new deaths have been recorded, with the total death toll remaining at three. Currently, three patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.

The Ghana Health Service has confirmed that Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with an infected person. Symptoms include fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and fatigue. Health authorities are urging individuals who experience these symptoms to immediately visit the nearest health facility for examination and treatment and to maintain good personal hygiene, avoid close contact with infected individuals, and adhere to preventive measures.

The Service has also advised the public to report to the nearest health facility if they experience any symptoms.
