Ghana still remains the beacon of hope in Africa - Speaker Bagbin
Accra, Ghana - Dec 26, 2024 - In a heartfelt Christmas message, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin reassured Ghana's youth that the country's future is bright, despite past challenges. Ghana, he emphasized, remains a beacon of hope and democracy, earning admiration from across the African continent.
Bagbin acknowledged the nation's resilience in maintaining multiparty democracy for 32 years, a feat that has inspired other countries. He expressed pride in Ghana's reputation as a symbol of African excellence, noting that the country continues to be a source of inspiration for others.
As the nation celebrates the festive season, Bagbin extended his warmest wishes to all Ghanaians, expressing his hope for a prosperous New Year.
“Please the youth, more importantly, the future is bright. I can assure you that Ghana is on the right path. We still remain the beacon of hope, the beacon of democracy and the country that our colleagues in the African continent are looking up to. Ghana is still seen as a mecca of the black race,'' he stated.
“We might have faulted, but people still look up to us. Particularly as we have maintained this multiparty democracy for 32 good years. The fact that we are being eulogized by other countries is something that will fulfil and keep our spirit in a good mood to go on,” Bagbin stated.
“I want to take this opportunity again, to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. May the good Lord continue to bless all of us and keep our nation greater and stronger,” he added.
