GES Sets Record Straight on 2025/2026 Academic Calendar
Accra,Ghana,August 24,2025 - The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a clarification on the 2025/2026 academic calendar, dispelling reports that the system has fully reverted to the single-track system.
In a statement on its official Facebook page, the GES explained that the upcoming academic year will accommodate both single-track and double-track schools, as outlined in the calendar released last week.
According to the GES, the 2025/2026 academic year will begin on Saturday, October 18, 2025, when all first-year students are expected to report.
The academic year will conclude on different dates for single-track and double-track schools. Single-track schools will close on August 21, 2026, while double-track schools will close on September 4, 2026.
Daniel Fenyi, the Public Relations Officer of GES, emphasized that the clarification aims to ensure transparent and accurate communication to students, parents, and the wider public. The GES wants to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of the academic calendar and can plan accordingly.
