Former NSB Head Kwabena Adu-Boahen Remanded for 7 Days, Wife and Co-Accused Granted Bail

Accra, Ghana - 02 May, 2025 - A High Court in Accra has remanded Kwabena Adu-Boahen, former head of the National Signals Bureau, into the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Organisation (EOCO) for seven days.
The decision follows allegations that Adu-Boahen attempted to interfere with a key prosecution witness in an ongoing case related to alleged stealing.
The Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, had urged the court to remand Adu-Boahen, citing intelligence suggesting witness interference.
However, the defence counsel, Samuel Atta Akyea, disputed the claim, questioning its credibility and Adu-Boahen's ability to influence the witness.
The court's decision aims to balance Adu-Boahen's freedom with the need for the state to prepare witness statements. Meanwhile, two co-accused, Angela Adjei-Boateng, Adu-Boahen's wife, and Mildred Donkor, a former bank relations officer, have been granted bail.
Adu-Boahen is expected to reappear in court on May 9, 2025. The case may expand, as the Attorney General disclosed separate investigations involving Adu-Boahen are underway at Ghana Water Limited, potentially leading to additional legal scrutiny.
