Foreign Ministry Cautions Embassies Over Poor Visa Application Conditions

Accra, Ghana - 25 Feb, 2025 - Ghana's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken a firm stance against foreign embassies and high commissions in the country, demanding improved treatment of Ghanaian visa applicants.
The ministry's directive follows a barrage of complaints from citizens about the deplorable conditions and services offered by some foreign missions. Applicants have reported long waiting times, inadequate facilities, and difficulties navigating visa application websites.
In a bid to address these concerns, the ministry has instructed foreign missions to provide humane and efficient services, including conducive waiting areas, emergency services, and streamlined appointment systems.
The government's intervention aims to safeguard the welfare and dignity of Ghanaian citizens seeking visas, many of whom are driven by a desire to explore better economic opportunities abroad.
With thousands of Ghanaians seeking to travel overseas each year, the ministry's directive is expected to bring some much-needed relief to visa applicants and improve the overall efficiency of the application process.
