Fire Engulfs Kintampo Mechanic Shop, Destroys 15 Motorbikes
Kintampo, Bono East Region - 09 June, 2025 - A late-night fire outbreak on Saturday, June 7, ravaged a mechanic shop in Kintampo, Bono East Region, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
The blaze, which occurred near the SDA Church, destroyed 15 motorbikes, a commercial fufu pounding machine, and a wooden structure. Miraculously, no one was hurt in the incident, thanks in part to the swift response of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The GNFS team sprang into action, battling the inferno and bringing it under control within minutes. Their prompt intervention prevented the fire from spreading to nearby shops and structures, which could have exacerbated the damage.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire seemed to erupt from within the mechanic shop, with flames quickly engulfing the premises.
Preliminary investigations by fire officers suggest that electrical faults or unattended flammable materials may have triggered the blaze. However, the exact cause remains under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
