Ewurabena Aubynn Accuses EC of Bias, Vows to Contest Ablekuma North Results

Accra, Ghana - 10 Feb, 2025 - The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn, has pledged to contest the results of the 2024 parliamentary elections, alleging irregularities.
Ms Aubynn accused the Electoral Commission (EC) of colluding with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to manipulate the outcome, claiming that fake pink sheets were being used to overturn her victory.
Her comments came during a protest vigil held by NDC supporters in Accra, who are demanding the immediate release of the election results.
“Being silent about some things doesn’t mean you are a coward. If, as an elderly person, you have decided to fight, then I am ready to fight this battle as well. I can tell you for a fact that the NPP didn’t provide a single pink sheet for the collation. It will never happen. We are not looking for war but fairness, so do what is right,” she stated.
The EC suspended the collation of results last month after violence broke out at a counting centre, with NDC supporters accused of vandalising property.
Despite the controversy, the EC has insisted that it will follow due process and adhere to the electoral laws before declaring the results.
