Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah Gets Parliamentary Approval as Lands and Natural Resources Minister
Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah is Ghana's Minister of Lands and Natural Resources

Accra, Ghana - 29 Jna, 2025 - Ghana's Parliament has confirmed the appointment of four new ministers, including Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as Minister-designate for Lands and Natural Resources.

The approval was granted despite strong opposition from the Minority in Parliament, who objected to Armah-Kofi Buah's nomination.

The controversy surrounding Armah-Kofi Buah's appointment stems from comments he made about former President Akufo-Addo's final State of the Nation Address. Although he acknowledged that his remarks were perceived as harsh, Armah-Kofi Buah declined to retract or apologize for his statements.

In addition to Armah-Kofi Buah, Parliament on January 29, 2025, also approved the nomination of three regional ministers-designate: Tia Ibrahim for the North East Region, Dr. Frank Amoakohene for the Ashanti Region, and Akamugri Atanga Donatus for the Upper East Region.

The new ministers are expected to play key roles in implementing the government's development initiatives, particularly in the areas of natural resource management and regional development.
