Prof. Akoriyea Appointed New Director-General of Ghana Health Service
Accra, Ghana - 29 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's healthcare system has entered a new era with the appointment of Professor Samuel Kaba Akoriyea as the new Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
Prof. Akoriyea succeeds Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, whose tenure was marked by significant strides in strengthening the country's healthcare system.
Dr. Kuma-Aboagye's leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic was widely praised, as Ghana implemented effective measures to curb the spread of the virus.
His efforts earned him international recognition, including the Korean Prime Minister's Citation.
