EC strengthens team with 200 quantitative experts to help collate results

Accra, Ghana - Nov 6, 2024 - The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has has launched a strategic recruitment initiative, onboarding over 200 professionals with expertise in mathematics, statistics, and related fields.

This EC descibes this move as a reaffirmationof  its commitment to conducting an error-free electoral process, prioritizing transparency and accuracy in the upcoming elections.

According to Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, the EC's Deputy Chairperson, this move aims to strengthen the credibility and reliability of election results. 

“The Commission has already recruited over 280,000 individuals who are going to work on this election. We have also recruited people who are going to help with the collation.
“These are people who have a background in mathematics, actuarial science, and statistics and will be assisting with quantitative methods. So they are going to assist the returning officers at the constituency level.”Dr. Asare emphasized in a media interview on November 5.

The newly recruited specialists bring robust analytical skills to support precise data collation, vote tabulation, and statistical analysis. This expertise is crucial for an accurate and trustworthy electoral process.
